Hi all,

Plenty of local news, some good, and some, as in the continued Main
Yarra Trail closure at Richmond, not so good. Have a event, heads up,
cycling news or want to be interviewed? Then get in contact with us:
admin at yarrabug.org

We've been in contact with Parks Victoria & City of Yarra staff and
Councillors about getting detailed detour information, a timeline to
when the trail can be reopened and an improved process about when major
cycling infrastructure is closed & why. We're also waiting on feedback
from Tuesday nights (9/7) Yarra Council meeting for support and/or
action from Councillors and executive staff, so they are made aware of
how serious the trail closure is for riders.

The trail closure is to be discussed at Wednesday nights BAC meeting
(Agenda item 2.1, see below), so your attendance or feedback to Kate and
council staff would be greatly appreciated.

was going to commit to discussing issues of major importance weekly
without the presence of political spokespeople. This week is education.
Next week is transport (8-12 July). Spread the word and encourage those

2. Parks Victoria update - Closure of floating sections of the Main
Yarra Trail. Latest news (updated 8 July 2013)
Assessment of options to resolve safety issues associated with floating
sections of the Main Yarra Trail is continuing. This may take some time
as the issues are complex and are likely to be difficult to resolve.

Parks Victoria will advise the likely duration of the trail closure as
soon as possible. Improved signage for the suggested detour is currently
in production and will be installed as soon as is available.
