Dear all

It has been brought to Yarra's attention as of yesterday that Parks
Victoria will be conducting emergency works to address floating sections
of the Main Yarra Trail until further notice between Barkly Avenue and
Punt Road from 10pm tonight, 28 June 2013. This temporary closure is due
to safety concerns and risks of injury for cyclists.

In the meantime, Parks Victoria in close liaison with Cities of Yarra
and Stonnington and Bicycle Network Victoria will install detour VMS and
static signage to notify riders of the following alternative routes:

·City bound Main Yarra Trail users can detour at MacRobertson Bridge
onto the Capital City Trail for approximately 4.4km which then connects
back onto the Main Yarra Trail at Anderson St via Morell Bridge
(Anderson St Footbridge).

·City bound Main Yarra Trail users can detour at Gibdon Street
(underneath CityLink overpass) onto Barkly Av, Mary St, Cotter St,
Balmain St, Gough St and across Harcourt Parade which then connects back
onto the Main Yarra Trail.

·Out-bound pedestrians and cyclists can detour at Anderson St onto the
Capital City Trail via Morell Bridge (Anderson St Footbridge) and
connect back onto the Main Yarra Trail via MacRobertson Bridge.

You can view these alternative routes here: http://goo.gl/maps/NuFbD

Parks Victoria will provide us a further update early next week
regarding this temporary closure so we can share this information to all
concerned parties as soon as possible.

If you would like to know more about this proposed emergency works,
please feel free to contact Parks Victoria Communications Team on 9695-9058.

Regards

Ross
