Dear Charlie

Cadel Evans has been nominated as a finalist in the inaugural Sports
Performer of the Year Awards being staged by The Age and The Sydney Morning
Herald. 
 
The Awards recognise the very best performers from the previous 12 months
and the Sports Performer of the Year will be voted for by Australia's
passionate sporting public.

The Awards consist of 4 categories and the winners will be announced at a
special function to be held at the SCG on Wednesday 28 November 2007.
 
The four Categories are
 
Sports Performer of the Year (in which cyclist Cadel Evans is a finalist)
Team Performance of the Year
Coach Performer of the Year
Young Performer of the Year (in which cyclists Josephine Tomic is a
finalist)
 
The winner of the Sports Performer of the Year will be determined by an
online public vote with the highest tallied Performer taking out a $50,000
prize. The other three categories will be determined by an expert voting
panel from The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald.
