<P>Cadel Evans has been nominated as a finalist in the
inaugural Sports Performer of the Year Awards being
staged by The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald.
<BR> <BR>The Awards recognise the very best
performers from the previous 12 months and the Sports
Performer of the Year will be voted for by Australia's
passionate sporting public.</P>
<P>The Awards consist of 4 categories and the winners
will be announced at a special function to be held at
the SCG on Wednesday 28 November 2007.<BR> <BR>The
four Categories are<BR> <BR>Sports Performer of the
Year (in which cyclist Cadel Evans is a
finalist)<BR>Team Performance of the Year<BR>Coach
Performer of the Year<BR>Young Performer of the Year (in
which cyclists Josephine Tomic is a
finalist)<BR> <BR>The winner of the Sports
Performer of the Year will be determined by an online
public vote with the highest tallied Performer taking
out a $50,000 prize. The other three categories will be
determined by an expert voting panel from The Age and
The Sydney Morning Herald.</P>
