Hello all

The minutes from last week's BAC meeting are now available at

Alistair McDonald has asked me to pass on a couple of messages:

1.*VicRoads have indicated that that they are looking at designing some 
works to go into the VicRoads bid process*potentially to be delivered in 
2013/14.  They have identified the Brunswick/St Georges Road route to 
focus most of their effort on.  If anyone has any suggestions for 
upgrades along this route please email Alistair McDonald on 
alistair.mcdonald at yarracity.vic.gov.au 
<mailto:alistair.mcdonald at yarracity.vic.gov.au>. These upgrades will 
compliment the installation of early bicycle/tram/pedestrian head starts 
on Brunswick St at Victoria Pde, Gertrude St, Johnston St and Alexandra 
Pde, which should go operational in the coming month.

2.*VicRoads works have begun on Heidelberg Road between Merri Ck and 
Queens Parade*improving the existing bicycle lane primarily with 
Virbaline and works on Langridge St between Nicholson and Smith St 
including green paint, Vibraline and early head starts for cyclists.

And a couple of messages from me, too:

1.There will be a *police promotion focussing on bike security* at 
Citizens Park, Richmond at 10am-1pm on *23 February*. The event includes 
bike engraving, promotion on bike security, and community safety 
promotion. Yarra will provide TravelSmart maps and reflective anklebands 
courtesy of RSAGIM (Road Safety Action Group Inner Melbourne).

2.*Ride2School Day*is just over a month away on *23 March*. By way of 
incentive, Yarra is offering 30+ complimentary Family Swim Passes to 
Yarra's leisure centres to each participating school and providing a 
prize for the school with the highest percentage of registrations.
