5:30PM for 6:00PM - State Library.  Come and catch the fireworks at 
Docklands and then swing up to a pub in Brunswick - we have a couple of 
birthdays to celebrate.  Yours too?  Great, see you there...

10AM Craigieburn Library, ride Aitken Creek to Highlands Lake. 14km, 1.5 
hours return plus time at café. Very Easy grade on mostly cycle paths Ride 
Leader Kevin Balaam (or contact Stephen)

Folding & Friends ride - Sunday 1st August

10:00AM Saffs Cafe, Castlemaine.  Ride next to Castlemaine - Maldon train 
line to Muckleford (8km).  Bring picnic.  Dirt roads.  See the Maldon 
steam train.  Each ride I profile another folding picture. This time we 
have pictures of a NEW folding bike (the Bilby) and the folding rack for 
small wheels. Hopefully John (designer and producer of this bike) will be

Lunchtime information workshops for commuter cyclists - from Tuesday 10th 
August

12:30PM to 1:30PM every Tuesday, from 10/08/10 at BikePark, 15 Banana 
Alley, Melbourne.  Topics will include: Winter Commuting; Buying a bike; 
Bike Setup; Training for duration events; Basic maintenance; What rules?; 
Planning a cycling holiday; Family cycling; Women Cycling; Group bunch 
riding.
 
Presenters will include Victoria Police Bicycle Patrol, Audax Victoria, 
Cycling Inform, Podium Bike Hub.  The cost of attendance is $25 for 10 
sessions or $2.50 per session. BYO lunch. Coffee, hot chocolate and cold 
drinks are included. Participants who register for 10 sessions get a 
Reflective Helmet-ID

valued at $20. 20% of all registration fees will be donated to the Amy 
Gillett Foundation.

Bikefest is a new event for Melbourne that celebrates and advocates for 
bikes as part of everyday life. Bikefest is planned and delivered by the 
same volunteer committee that brought you the Melbourne Bicycle Film 
Festival from 2007-09. More information:
