VeloRock 2008 - Saturday 29th of March - 2pm
******************************************************
Venue: Brunswick Velodrome
Come and see the LuckSmiths, Midstate Orange and other Melbourne indie
bands at the Brunswick Velodrome.
VeloRock is special because all the bands and their equipment will be
transported to the venue by bicycle! It will be a demonstration of the
unrealised utility of the bicycle and human power.
Entry FREE!
Get involved: bike trailers and pullers needed. Stay tuned to
http://www.velorock.net/

******************************************************
Mountain Goat Brewery Warehouse 1, 18 River Street Richmond. Entrance is
on North Street just by the corner of Clarke St. Goat Management allows
your trusty bike to be parked inside the premises & the doorbloke is very
nice.

******************************************************
Petty's orchard open day - Sunday 6th of April
******************************************************
Ride the Yarra trail to Petty's orchard in templestowe for an open day
(entry $5)
Petty's Orchard specialises in organic apples, pears and stonefruit. The
ride is probably between 15 and 20km one way, with a few steep bits. The
trail out this way is glorious, featuring wetlands, ents (small ones, but
I'm pretty sure they're ents) and abundant creatures. I have seen black
cockies, kingfishers, egrets, kangaroos, wombats, a baby turtle and even a
platypus riding this section of the trail.
Roberto Perez (as featured in the film The Power of Community: How Cuba
Survived Peak Oil) will be giving a presentation on permaculture - this is
an amazing opportunity to hear about the hard work and ingenuity of Cubans
when faced with an energy crisis.
Meet 17 Park Cresent, Fairfield at 9.15am for a 9.30 departure. (N.B. this
is the first day after daylight saving ends - don't arrive an hour early!)
Return via the trail or from Eltham train station. Bring picnic food, sun
protection and plenty of water.

Sydney Road free from motorised traffic. Enjoy this community space in a
new way.
Consider volunteering as a marshal to help this event work smoothly.
