5. Bus Your Bike Trial
From PTV: Victoria is conducting its first trial of bike racks on
buses, servicing four metropolitan and regional bus routes. The
one year trial will see bike racks fitted to the front of 15 buses
operating on Bendigo Route 16, Routes 510 and 512 in Moreland, and
the Cowes to Wonthaggi service.

The bike racks, each capable of carrying two bikes, will
enable passengers to ride to their local bus stop and then catch
public transport to continue their journey. The trial is also
aimed at alleviating congestion on local roads and providing an
environmentally friendly transport option for Victorians. Riders
using the bike racks simply secure their bike using the
spring-loaded clamps, before boarding the bus and paying the
standard fare. At the end of the trial a full assessment of the
impact on service including patronage, performance and customer
satisfaction will be carried out.
safety works immediately south of Arthurton Road from Wednesday 18
May to 3 June 2016. There will be disruption to the path and bike
riders will be required to dismount and walk for the length of the
