Heads up on tonights council meeting - including discussion of
proposed Copenhagen lanes for Wellington Street, options have been
previously discussed at Yarra BAC meetings in the last 12 months.<br>

From Yarra Council: Please find below a snapshot of the matters that
will be considered by Council at its meeting on Tuesday 17 April.<br>

Local residents and other community members are welcome to attend
the meeting, which will be held at the Richmond Town Hall (333
Bridge Road), from 6.30pm.<br>

Snapshot of what's on the agenda:<br>
<b><br>
Outcomes of the Abbotsford Convent Precinct Advisory Group. </b><br>
Council will consider a report that outlines possible solutions to
traffic and parking issues at the Abbotsford Convent identified by
the Abbotsford Convent Precinct Advisory Group. The group has
proposed 10 actions it believes could improve those issues,
including installing a 'No Through Road' sign and removing on-street
parking on St Heliers Street and working with VicRoads to install
traffic lights at the Abbotsford Convent Foundation car park
entrance on Johnston Street. The report also seeks Council's
endorsement to undertake further community consultation on the
proposal to remove on-street parking on St Heliers Street.<br>
<br>
<b>Copenhagen bicycle lanes proposed for Wellington Street,
Collingwood.</b><br>
A report will outline a proposal to build Copenhagen-style bicycle
lanes on Wellington Street, between Johnston Street and Victoria
Street. If installed, the lanes would require the removal of up to
118 car spaces. Officers are seeking Council's permission to start
consulting with the community on two concept designs for the bicycle
lanes, and to determine the level of support for the idea.<br>
