Proposed dog fence and basketball court upgrade </b><br>
<br>
Council is seeking feedback on works it is proposing to undertake in
Edinburgh Gardens.<br>
<br>
The works include:<br>
<ul>
<li>the construction of a low-level dog fence in the central area
of the park currently used as a meet-up point for dogs and dog
owners</li>
<li>the removal of 36 Oleander and weed species trees along the
northern boundary path, to be replaced with an avenue of Holly
Oaks</li>
<li>resurfacing the multi-use court next to the pavilion with new
concrete and line-marking for games.</li>
<li>The reason for the proposed installation of the dog fence is
to minimise the potential for collision between free running
dogs and bicycle riders. </li>
</ul>

Dog walkers and bicycle riders have previously suggested Council
create a barrier on some kind at the edge of the path.Council
estimates the works will cost $87,000. Depending on the feedback
received during public consultation, the works are proposed to start
in September.<br>

<li>Council is seeking feedback from residents and other park
users about these works.</li>

<li>All submissions must be received by Friday 26 August 2011.</li>
