Promotion Fund</a> (CPF) today
applauded the release of the publication “Cycling Aspects for Austroad
Guides”
by <a target="_blank"  href="http://www.austroads.com.au/">Austroads</a>.
</font></font></font><br/><br/><font style="font-family: Arial;"
size="2"><font size="5"><font size="2">The Guide supports the safety of
all
road users by providing an overview of planning and traffic management
considerations, and a summary of design guidance and criteria relating to
on-road and off-road bicycle facilities.

size="2"><font size="5"><font size="2">Peter Bourke, General Manager of
Bicycle Industries Australia and the industry’s Cycling Promotion Fund
said,

 

“This is a further step in the
commitment of Austroads to support the work of the Australian Bicycle
Council
as it works to achieve a doubling of people cycling by 2016, the key
objective
of the National Cycling Strategy.”

size="2"><font size="5"><font size="2">The publication provides guidance
for
all levels of government in the design, construction and management of
roads to
make them safer for all road users.

size="2"><font size="5"><font size="2">The guide, which comes after the
release of the Australian Transport Council’s draft National Road
Safety
Strategy, will support governments to implement best practice bicycle
infrastructure for on-road and off-road situations.

size="2"><font size="5"><font size="2">Acknowledging the value and
necessity
of this information, Austroads has moved to make this publication free for
all
users as a download.
