** Closing date for national award nominations extended
------------------------------------------------------------
The Cycling Promotion Fund has extended the closing date for nominations for the 2016 Australian Cycling Luminary Awards* to ensure all the local programs and cycling heroes across Australia have a chance to be recognised.

The new closing date for the 13th national Award nominations is now Thursday, 11th February, and incorporates achievements in 2014 and 2015.

The highly respected national awards are now in their 13th year and celebrate the investments, the people and the programs that have made a real difference to getting more people riding bikes.

Winners in the past have come from remote Australian regions and our biggest cities. They have run tiny community programs and they have championed the investment of millions for new infrastructure – these are the only national awards that recognise the change-makers in our national bicycling scene.

If you are aware of a program, event or initiative that has made a positive impact for people who ride, or a person that has created change in cycling, then nominate them now for one of three award categories!

NOMINATIONS

The award nominations are open to any Individual, group, business, event, organisation, government or school that has achievement significant change and inspired or influenced others.

Cycling Luminaries Award categories*
Leadership — Bike culture — Built environment

•    Closing date: 5pm, Thursday 11th February 2016 - the application form and entry must be lodged by the closing date.

•    Judging: judging of the finalists will be completed by the panel appointed by the Cycling Promotion Fund.
•    The decision of the Judging Panel will be final.
