[YarraBUG-list] Proposed bus lanes on Victoria Parade and Hoddle Street

Hi all,

News from Department of Transport & VicRoad regarding proposed bus lanes 
on Victoria Parade and Hoddle Street.

"VicRoads and the Department of Transport are seeking feedback on a 
proposal to extend peak hour bus lanes along Victoria Parade and Hoddle 
Street. This proposal is part of the Doncaster Area Rapid Transit (DART) 
project. It aims to make bus trips to and from the city quicker and more 
reliable"

Now, if you read the pdf showing a map of the Hoddle Street & Victoria 
Parade area, there's also proposed changes to cyclist use of the bus lanes:

Seriously though, not that many people really want to ride on Hoddle 
Street during peak times, but many actually do ride Victoria Parade as 
part of their east-west commute & for shorter local trips.

Some people do ride shorter sections of Hoddle Street, either onroad or 
on the shared footpath during peak & off-peak times, as part of their 
local cycling trips.
