Mums (& Dads) on Bikes ride - Sunday 2nd August

We'll take the train to Reservoir, ride quiet back streets and the Darebin 
Creek Trail to Bundoora Park (approx 5km). We'll stop for a while before 
riding along quiet back streets and off-road paths to Macleod and 
returning via the Hurstbridge train line (approx 5km). Contact Kathy to

Full Moon Ride on the Darebin Ck trail - Thursday 6th August
******************************************************
Depart Epping Station Thu 6 August 7:32 PM or catch the 6:45pm Epping 
Train from Flinders St Station.  This was one of the biggest FMR's of 2007 
so we're doing it all again.  Join in and experience some of the most 
spectacular night-time views in metro Melbourne.  It's a mostly gentle 22 
km ride along the upper and lower Darebin Creek trails (OK, there's one 
big-ish lump in the middle). Estimate arriving in Alphington around 
11:30pm.  As always bring along nibblies, drinks and good conversation to 
share around a fire at the 1/2 way picnic point. Organizer: X-rider

Chocolate Ride - Saturday 8th August 
******************************************************
10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Meet at Flinders Street Station.  A social paced 
ride using bike paths wherever possible to several Chocolate Cafes around 
Melbourne. In the middle of the ride we'll stop for a non-chocolatey 
lunch.  Route will include: Lindt (Collins St, CBD); San Chorro, (Under 
the wheel of fail, Docklands); A Lunch Break TBC; Fraus (Victoria St, 
North Melbourne); Koko Black (Lygon Street, Carlton).  Budget around $5-10 
for each stop.  Organiser: Bikenerd

First Human Powered Cycles Social Bike Ride - Sunday 9th August (TBC)

The current plan:
1. meet at the shop (562 High Street Thornbury) at midday where Steve and 
the cafe crew will have the coffee pouring and the cakes slicing
2. take a relaxed ride through Northcote, Brunswick and along the bike 
paths to a scenic venue for lunch
3. take a different route back along bike paths to Brunswick
Total distance: approx 20-25kms. Bring: you, your bike, some lunch money, 
water bottle, any spares you usually carry, laughs and smiles

MeteorRide - Friday 14th to Sunday 16th August (tour)

To coincide with the annual Perseids Meteor Shower.  Ballarat -> Creswick 
-> Clydesdale -> Castlemaine.  Friday night: Creswick, a caravan park, 
camping or cabins.  Saturday night: Clydesdale, bush block camping. Route:

annual meteor shower, visible from mid-July each year, peaking about 
August 12.  Organiser: Mr Wheels.

Brunswick Op Shop Ride - Saturday 5th September

9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Meet at Jewel Railway Station.  Bring your panniers 
as we go hunting for a bargains in the op-shops of Brunswick. Organiser:

North Melbourne to Ceres and return - Sunday 13th September
******************************************************
Meet 10am North Melbourne Town Hall cnr Queensberry and Errol Streets. 
Most of this ride is along off-road paths.  Coffee at Ceres and return by 
the same route.  Pace suitable for primary schoolers (slow), should be 
back in North Melbourne by about 1pm.
If the weather is bad (wind/rain) check for a last minute cancellation by 
ringing 9329 9757 after 8a.m. on the day of the ride.

The Crosskeys Crusiers - Strathmore - Friday rides

The Crosskeys Crusiers are a group of retired men and women who meet in 
the Crosskeys CarPark near the Strathmore station at 9am on Friday 
mornings. 
The rides are decided each Friday and the adventure begins. Some riders go 
till morning tea while others ride till lunch and then home at about 3pm.
