Morebug Yarra Boulevard Challenge Ride - Sunday 8th February
10:00am to 1:00pm.  Meet at Upfield Bike Path between Railway Hotel & 
Brunswick Train Stn. Distance: 20 km; Surface: Roads, Hills; Suitable: All 
bikes. Road bikes an advantage.

Bicycle Polo relocating - Sunday 8th February
2pm.  Polo will be at the corner of Hawthorn St and Helen St, Northcote; 
just behind the Northcote Social Club (301 High Street), with play 
starting at 2pm. There is a map available here.  This is due to the Bridal 
Expo at the Royal Exhibition Building.  Organiser: Alex

Dinner and Ferry ride - Friday 13th February
leaving 6pm sharp from Southbank (at the end of the coathanger bridge 
across the river from Flinders St Railway Station) 6pm sharp.  Ride to 
underneath the Westgate Bridge.  Catch the punt before it finishes at 7pm, 
eat dinner in Footscray (prob yummy/cheap vietnamese noodle soup) then 
drinks nearby afterward. Support the continuation of this excellent 
service for western commuting compadres!

Goatage - Friday 20th February
6pm Mountain Goat Brewery, Cnr North St & Clarke & St Richmond.  Come 
celebrate a love of the amber liquid, talk bikes and general guff.

Car Free CBD Debate - Saturday 21st February
12:00pm - 1:30pm at Federation Square - The Edge.  Hosted by Young 
Engineers Australia (YEA) and the Environment Institute of Australia and 
New Zealand (EIANZ).  A light hearted, entertaining debate looking at the 
concept of a 'car free CBD' for Melbourne. Representatives from Engineers 
Australia will argue the affirmative and Environment Institute the

Critical Mass - Friday 27th February and Last Friday every month.
5:30PM - State Library.  Come and refresh your imagination of what a 
civilised City not dominated by motor cars could be like.

Around and Around the Uni - Saturday 28th February
7pm Prince Albert Hotel, 191 Grattan St, Carlton
Almost 8 Km the wiggly way cycling tour of Melbourne University.  The 
first 5 Km is an unbroken path past 20 sculptures.  Them around more of 
the amazing university and back to the start.  Expect we’ll get back to 
the start around 9:00 PM.  Then there several options including a quick 
refreshment before a roll down Swanston St to view more sculptures 
including a James, Akido, Norma, Tom & Inge.  After that it’s up to you.

The World Naked Bike Ride - Sunday 15th March
3pm Union Club Hotel, corner of Gore & Webb Sts, Fitzroy.
Mission Statement: We face automobile traffic with our naked bodies as the 
best way of defending our dignity and exposing the unique dangers faced by 
cyclists and pedestrians plus all the negative effects of oil, cars, war, 
consumerism and non-renewable energy.  The Protest Themes in 4 Words: 
Naturism, Environmentalism, Pacifism and Biketivism.

Clothing is optional. The dress code for the World Naked Bike Ride is 
"Bare As You Dare"!  YOU get to decide how naked you wish to be. If that 
means completely naked, the decision is yours.  Fantastic Fun! World Naked 
Bike Ride is the biggest naked protest event in the world. It is the 
grooviest, funniest, most hippie greenie event. Riding in the WNBR will 
give you a natural high and a feeling of joy, liberation and freedom that 
will amaze you. The memory of WNBR will cheer you for years to come.

Geelong Autumn equinox ride - Friday 20th March
Ride suitable for beginners.  Watch this space or 
for updates.  Organiser: David.

City Laneways ride - Saturday 21st March
Come and celebrate the autumn equinox with an extended ride through the 
lanes of the City and south Carlton.  Suspension an advantage. 
Starts 8pm at the round-about top of Queen St near Vic market.  Half-way 
drinks on a rooftop.

Beach Rides - hot nights in Jan/Feb/Mar - register for text message 
Dates TBA (hot weather required) - Join the bicycle beach party as we ride 
the sea for a swim and fish 'n' chips on a hot summer night. But because we
don't know the weather in advance, we can't set the date. So you need to email 
your mobile phone number to beachriders at gmail.com or SMS "Beach" to 0439 
88 00 93. Then when a hot night (over 25 degrees) is forecast in the next 
few days, you will be sent an SMS giving the time (evening) & place (CBD) 
for the ride start.

Bike Polo!
Saturdays during summer 2pm corner Paterson and Arnold Sts North Carlton. 
Sundays 2.30pm until dusk @ the carpark in the Carlton Gardens, West of 
the Exhibition Buildings. Bring a bike, beverage and yourself. Mallets and 
ball provided.
Tuesdays from 7pm onwards on the rooftop carpark at Victoria Gardens, 
corner Burnley and Victoria Streets Richmond.

Ride from Flemington to Mountain Goat Brewery (Richmond). Different route 
each week, faster than your average bikefun ride.

Most rides go at a social pace, run rain or shine, and are free (like the 
streets themselves).

BikeFun depends on people like you to create events and contribute to
