I've had some feedback on the Gazette wording from a friend who is a lawyer
(I'm also passing it by someone else I know who is a lawyer because it helps
to get two opinions in these things)...anyway, she says that the Gazette
could be interpreted as saying that the ban applies to ANY train or bus (V/Line
or metropolitan) that passes through Zone 1 during the peak times set out
in Chapter 9.
I'm afraid as a commuter who needs to be sure of getting to Melbourne and
back during specific times (I have childcare issues, among other things),
I can't question the legality of the ban on the fly.
On another matter, I will be happy to host a satellite CERES meeting at my
place in Castlemaine on Saturday at 3.00 pm, connected via Skype (if it is
possible, still trying to work that out), so if you can't make it to CERES
but you can make it into central Castlemaine, let me know please.
Cheers,
Eve.
