[publictransport] BtBB update 28/3

Hi all,

Meeting, coffee, bicycle appreciation, follow up, whatever: I'll be
around at the CERES cafe this Saturday (5 April) 1pm.

In regards to Julia's comments, has anyone *actually* seen any signage
or changes denoting what was mentioned in the MetLink Feb news or was
discussed in the meeting with Kosky?

Having bicycles allowed on trains again at peak times is only one part
of what was promised, what Kosky was suggesting was a more integrated
approach to mix mode transport options.

What was suggested from Kosky may indeed be baby steps, but it was a
crucial decision in ensuring bicycles are part of sustainable transport
solutions in Victoria.

As many of us realise, the longterm approach to bicycle use and public
transport has always been nebulous, and that fact in no small point is
what helped create the issue we fought against earlier this year.

In short, further communication is required with the DoI Public
Transport Division to clarify what is actually occuring and timelines.
Unless someone can alert us to the existance of a media release or rule
changes.

Cynically I think the government maybe a tad preoccupied with Myki ...

cheers,

Chris
